Antonio Reparaz was born in Cadiz (1831), and death in (1886) was a musician, composer and director Spanish.
== Biography ==
He gained renown as a result of the success of his operas, although other were well-received works. He was direcction of company first time in Santander. His greatest fame came from opera, especially. On the other hand, he wrote symphonic music with a singular insistence, at a time in which in Spain, orchestral ensembles barely existed. He composed and conducted numerous works, A result of this were his symphonies, revealing a strong assimilation of Verdi and Beethoven's compositional techniques. His most successful works were those with a Spanish character. During his last years he composes various symphonic poems with a clear, nostalgic character, In the chamber-music genre he has left us various works, including quartets, as well as a trio and quintet, composed from markedly classical standpoints, influenced by the French world of composers. He went Italy for study and composed Oratio in Rome as one of the works written.
He worked in the Theatre San Juan of Oporto, Portugal in the 1870s. There he wrote his four operas with premieres. He was a director of Theatre Real of San Juan since 1872. He wrote songs of Nineteenth-Century Spain, ''A Mi Nazarena'' with José zorrilla and ''El Beso del Poeta''.
In 1890 his daughter Virginia married with Antonio Videgain and in 1892 was born his grandson Antonio Videgain Reparaz.
